Wyre Forest – External damp proofing
The customer had a large part of a property below ground level, and although it was an external building [garage] it still required water proofing.
The project started with a complete excavation of the ground surrounding the external walls – down to foundation levels. The wall was then left to dry-out completely with retaining structure in place so that the neighbours could continue to use their drive as normal. Once dry the wall was given three coats of an epoxy / bitumen sealant. A land drain pipe was laid along the foundations in order to draw moisture away from the wall and the space refilled with pea gravel and sand, then a top surface.
The result is a long-lasting solution that will not only keep the garage dry, but also prevent additional issues in the future.
