Worcester – Infinity Patio with Curved Steps to Lawn
A customer’s new extension had created a drop of a little over a metre. We were asked to build a, ‘infinity’ patio which would be large enough to create a seating and dining area as well as holding a built-in hot tub. They then wanted curved steps around the perimeter to lead down to the garden.
The biggest part of this job was infilling the space created by the drop from the extension. We build a retaining wall around the perimeter of the patio and filled the space with hardcore, which we then had to compact with a whacker plate. We carried out the compression process multiple times to ensure that it was fully compact and level.
The customer had ordered external lighting products, which we facilitated by wiring the patio throughout the project. Having built the base of the patio we then laid the Raj Blend, Indian Sandstone paving and built a decorative wall to provide privacy. For the built-in hot tub we had to perfectly match the curved corners to make sure that it sat completely flush with the patio.
